Our Coordinator is responsible for the overall programs management, operations, clinical coordination and supervision of the specific Behavioral Health Department assigned.
The Specialized Residence provides permanent long-term supportive housing services and Community Support Services to individuals diagnosed with a serious mental illness. The program receives referrals from Greystone Park Psychiatric Hospital, or other affiliated state psychiatric facilities. The program also admits clients who may already be living in the community or are being discharged from county or community psychiatric hospitals. The purpose of the program is to serve those clients with a history of severe mental illness who need a residential program with additional comprehensive services to promote permanency in the community. The program has been designated as a MESH program (Medically Enhanced Supported Housing). The program is operated twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week with the primary focus of assisting individuals with daily living and helping them to maintain their tenure in the community. In addition, Community Support Services are rehabilitative in nature and are focused on independent living skills, for clients with the goal of living independently in the community. The program is housed in the Greater Clifton Passaic Community Center. The program utilizes a Single Room Occupancy model. Meals are provided to interested clients. The program provides a range of supportive, case management services and community support services. These services include life skills development, medication monitoring, daily living skills assistance, and linkage to community services. The program utilizes, as necessary, other services available at St. Mary’s such as Outpatient Behavioral Health, medical ER and acute hospitalization as needed. Community referrals are also accepted from all sources. The program capacity is 55 clients. Additionally, the program provides community support services to a group of individuals living independently in the community.
