Saint John Hospital’s Senior Behavioral Health Center is located in Leavenworth, KS, just thirty minutes from downtown Kansas City.  We provide personalized care for adults over 55 years of age experiencing acute symptoms associated with dementia and/or a mental health condition such as: bi-polar, anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, etc.  Our inpatient services offer stabilization and treatment for these adults displaying serious behavioral or mental changes. We are currently looking for a motivated part time, day shift LPN to join our SBH unit team.  This nurse will have duties that include, but are not limited to:

• provide direct and indirect patient care services requiring technical and manual skills, within the scope of practice, that meet the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care
• meet the communication needs of the patient and family
• perform under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse
• respond quickly and accurately to any changing conditions in treatment

Education and Work Experience

• current and valid Kansas LPN license or Licensed Psychiatric Technician
• IV Certified upon hire
• current BLS (AHA) certification upon hire and maintained current
• one year experience in an applicable setting, preferred
• Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate within 6 months of hire and maintain current
