Responsibilities

The Stroke Coordinator is a registered nurse who is responsible for the management, organization and maintenance of the Stroke Program & designation. The Coordinator adheres to the standards set by state, federal, and private regulatory agencies for these programs such as but not limited to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services Time Critical Diagnosis System (MOTCD), The American Heart and Stroke Association Get With the Guidelines (GWTG) Program, The Joint Commission (TJC) and The Conditions of Participation by The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience
  1. Bachelors of Science in Nursing or higher, preferred.
  2. Current and valid state RN license.
  3. Minimum of five years of critical care experience in the ICU or Emergency Department (or a combination of both), preferred.
  4. Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintained current.
  5. ACLS upon hire and maintained current.
  6. Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) course within 6 months of hire and maintained current
