Responsibilities

Providence Medical Center is looking for a per diem, day shift Operating Room/Surgical Tech who is empathetic and has good communication skills. We have a collaborative culture focused on positive outcomes, opportunities for professional growth and so much more.  Our OR/Surg Tech duties include but are not limited to:

  • responsible for the preparation of sterile supplies and instruments for each assigned procedure
  • maintaining sterile field during case
  • providing surgeon with sterile supplies and instruments during assigned procedures
  • able to work well under stressful and emergency situations
  • able to act quickly and accurately
  • some assistance in sterile processing may be necessary

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

  • Graduation from an ORT training program within 6 months of hire or on the job training with a minimum of 2 years experience (surgical setting preferred).
  • experience in scrubbing minor and major procedures in the generalized surgical specialties, (i.e., GYN, General and Plastics)
  • experience in scrubbing at least minor procedures in the specialty surgical areas (i.e., ortho, neuro, ENT, Urology, etc.).
  • current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
