Responsibilities

We are seeking an CT Technologist, internally referred to as our CT Technologist-Radiology at St John Hospital a member of Prime Healthcare. As a Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist you will specialize and be responsible for operating CT scanners to produce cross-sectional images of patient’s internal organs and tissues. You will assist in diagnosing medical conditions and the treatment plan process, by producing high-quality images that help healthcare providers make informed decisions about our patient care.

 

Shift’s Available:  Nights

Employment Type: Full Time

Shift Hours: 12hr Shifts

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

  • prepare patients and ensure patients are properly positioned on the CT table and explain the procedure to them with empathy, address any concerns or questions they may have
  • operate CT scanners to obtain images of the targeted body parts, which may involve adjusting the CT scanner settings to optimize image quality while minimizing radiation exposure, radiation safety at all times
  • monitor our patients, as a CT Technologist ensure their comfort and safety throughout the procedure
  • assist other radiologists, as you will work closely with them, who interpret the images you produced by the CT exam you may also assist in administering contrast agents or perform certain procedures
  • preserve all equipment assigned to the radiology department, CT Technologist are responsible for the quality assurance of CT scanners to ensure they function properly and produce accurate images
  • keep accurate records of each patient’s procedure, including images and relevant medical history, documentation and record-keeping is a must
  • follow strict safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure to patients, yourself, and other healthcare personnel
  • maintain your Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) and Kansas State Board of Healing Arts license
  • other duties and responsibilities maybe assigned depending on department need and growth 

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

  • licensure and fluoroscopy permit as required by State
  • appropriate national certifications in two modalities
  • current BCLS accredited by the AHA
  • familiar with State and Federal regulations
  • graduate of an accredited radiology technology program (accredited by JRCERT preferred)
  • proficient computer skills
  • one year of Acute Clinical Radiography preferred
