Responsibilities

The Assistant General Counsel – Labor must be a seasoned labor attorney.  This attorney works closely with key leadership at both the corporate and local levels across the Prime Healthcare system.  This attorney must take a lead role in bargaining with numerous healthcare unions in several states.  This attorney is also responsible for managing outside counsel in labor arbitrations and proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board.  This position requires significant travel, including travel to the corporate headquarters in Ontario, California.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

 

Required qualifications:

 

1.    J.D. from ABA Accredited Law School

2.    Member in Good Standing of State Bar

3.    Must have experience as first-chair management negotiator for collective bargaining agreements

4.    Must have experience handling arbitrations and National Labor Relations Board hearings.

5.    Experience in the healthcare industry preferable.

 

Preferred qualifications:

 

1.    Minimum of eight (8) years of prior legal experience in law firm, agency, and/or in-house position
