Responsibilities

The IT Project Management Office is responsible for setting the standards for Prime IT projects by defining and managing the project/program governance processes for all IT projects regarding project scoping & planning, new project intake & approval process, prioritizing, tracking, project communication, project documentation and reporting project status.  With direction from the Corporate CIO/CTO, the PMO is responsible for institutionalizing project life cycle methodology and management of the overall IT project portfolio.

 

The IT PMO Program Manager will support the IT PMO Manager in managing and directing on-going IT programs, and the projects within them, for Prime Healthcare.  This position is expected to undertake complex programs in terms of difficulty and project size.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to program governance and management, resource management, and/or quality management.  The position will, from time to time, also assume responsibility for assigned stand-alone projects.  The Program Manager will able be expected to provide guidance, mentoring and direction to the more junior members of the PMO team.

 

He/she will be running IT programs and projects, in accordance with established PMO standards.  The Program Manager is responsible to ensure all projects are properly documented and implemented in accordance with the approved project charter until the project/program is reassigned, cancelled, or completed.

 

The IT PMO Program Manager is responsible for reporting and communicating the status of all assigned programs/projects, on a weekly basis to all business stakeholders, PMO Manager and IT Leadership.  Project financial tracking and analysis will be monitored and reported, where information is able.

 

This individual filling this position is expected to be a self-starter needing little guidance and direction to manage their assigned projects/programs.

Qualifications

Required qualifications:

  1. Eight or more years of applicable work experience within project management with a proven track record.
  2. Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) from PMI, or equivalent using PMI methodology.
  3. Experience managing both operational and technical projects/programs all levels of complexity and size.
  4. Experience managing multiple projects and programs consecutively.
  5. Strong Understanding of successful project management principles as outlined in the PMBOK and exercised within Prime, and hands-on implementation experience for large scale complex projects.
  6. Functional experience in all the following areas: resource management, communication management, stakeholder management, procurement management, cost management, scope management, quality management and risk management.
  7. Knowledge of healthcare operations and structure, general requirements in an integrated delivery system, and use of IT applications in the practicing healthcare environment. Thorough understanding of hospital's operational cycle including processes, policies, regulations, and patient visit cycle.
  8. Ability to work under minimum supervision to get all assigned work completed within budget and schedule while maintaining high standards of quality.
  9. Strong computer skills including Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and MS Project or Smartsheet PPM.
  10. Effective verbal and written communication skills with internal and external stakeholders in a professional manner.

Preferred qualifications:

  1. Minimum three years’ experience with an integrated healthcare information system preferred.
  2. Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Management or Computer Science or related field.

Our Total Rewards package includes, but is not limited to, paid time off, a 401K retirement plan, medical, dental, and vision coverage, tuition reimbursement, and many more voluntary benefit options.  Benefits may vary based on employment status, i.e. full-time, part-time, per diem or temporary.  A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $67,392‬.00 to $202,030.40 on an annualized basis. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
