Responsibilities

The Vice President of Marketing and Communications is the national executive leader responsible for the planning, development and execution of the organization's strategic communications, public relations, and marketing initiatives. This leadership position is one of the key representatives of Prime Healthcare with internal and external stakeholders. Works closely with Government Relations and is responsible for the development and deployment of all Corporate communications, including investor related communications and presentations, media relations and PR/ community engagement activities for Prime Healthcare. This leader oversees a Corporate staff responsible for internal communications, executive communications, strategic partnerships, marketing and business development, PR and media relations, crisis communications, digital marketing, Corporate sponsorships, Prime Healthcare Foundation activities, website development and social media strategy. This leader works with hospital leadership across the system to advance the company’s strategic goals. Working closely with Prime Executive Leadership, this position serves as the primary spokesperson for Prime Healthcare. Hospital Communications, Marketing and Business Development teams have a dotted line to this leadership role.

Qualifications

Required qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or related field.
  2. Ten or more years of effective communications success in a healthcare delivery setting; Ten or more years’ leading a marketing and communications function at the c-suite level.
  3. A successful track record of effectively communicating with senior level executives, board members, physician leaders, elected officials, and key community stakeholders.
  4. Experience and knowledge in government relations and working with elected officials and key stakeholders.
  5. Highly developed organizational, communication, planning and leadership skills; diplomatic with the ability to build positive relationships across the health system.
  6. Excellent writing skills; creativity a plus.
  7. Excellent coaching and mentoring skills to ensure an effective Corporate and hospital marketing communications team.

Preferred qualifications:

  1. Experience working in a large, complex (matrixed) national health system.
  2. Experience with investor relations.
  3. Connections, or experience working with, national news media in key markets (LA, NYC, Midwest).
  4. Master’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, English, Marketing, Journalism.

 


Prime Healthcare offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package that provides employees the flexibility to tailor benefits according to their individual needs. Our Total Rewards package includes, but is not limited to, paid time off, a 401K retirement plan, medical, dental, and vision coverage, tuition reimbursement, and many more voluntary benefit options.  Benefits may vary based on employment status, i.e. full-time, part-time, per diem or temporary.  A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $175,000.00 to $250,000.00 on an annualized basis. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire and will be dependent on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, skill set, experience, education, credentials, and licensure. Additionally, employees in this position may be eligible to participate in the Company’s annual discretionary bonus program. Discretionary bonuses, if any, are based on a number of factors, which include but are not limited to individual and Company performance.
