Saint John Hospital Pharmacy Department is looking for a dynamic Pharmacist Intern to join our team!

Responsibilities

The SJH Pharmacy Department is looking for a dynamic Pharmacist Intern to join our team to assist the Pharmacist in a per diem role.  The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • assists the Pharmacist in the support of the drug distribution systems including patient counseling and pharmacokinetic calculations
  • participates in performance improvement and data collections activities
  • responsible for dosage preparation, preparation of sterile admixture using aseptic technique, floor stock delivery, pre-packaging, billing, receiving, and stocking
  • participates in providing pharmaceutical care for the following age groups: neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
  • other responsibilities include: inventory control, controlled substances distribution, documentation and accountability, assisting in the inspection of medication storage areas throughout the hospital, and maintaining the cleanliness of the department
  • all responsibilities are performed under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist according to local board of pharmacy and state regulations
  • performs other tasks as assigned by the Pharmacist

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

 

  • current enrollment as a Pharmacy Student
  • current State Board of Pharmacy Certificate of Pharmacy Intern
