Responsibilities

We are seeking a Patient Account Registrar (Nights – 12hr), internally referred to as our Patient Access at Southern Regional Medical Center, a member of Prime Healthcare at Riverdale, Georgia. A patient service registrar in a hospital is responsible for managing patient information and facilitating the admission process. They serve as a crucial link between patients and the healthcare system, ensuring a smooth administrative process.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

  • Collect and verify personal and medical insurance information from patients for patient registration
  • Assist patients in scheduling appointments and coordinate with healthcare providers
  • Provide medical information about hospital services and address patient inquiries
  • Accurately enter patient data into electronic healthcare systems (what system?)
  • Assist with medical billing inquiries and verify medical insurance coverage

 

 

 

Qualifications

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have: 

  • Customer Services experience required
  • High School Graduate or GED Equivalent Required (effective 4/1/14 for all new hires)

 

Additional Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize needs to meet required timelines
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills

 

It will be great if you also happen to have these qualifications but not required:

  • Previous hospital experience as an admissions representative
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
