Under the direction of the Designated Institutional Official (DIO), the Program Director is responsible for the general administration, curriculum planning, recruitment, and teaching and supervision of the IM Residency Program (“IM Program or Program”). The Program Director establishes the strategic direction of the Program and is responsible for the standards, quality and reputation of such. The Program Director is expected to support integration of the IM Program with physician practices and hospital clinical services in a manner that enhances value and quality, and that promotes an optimal environment for professional practice and medical education.
Interested candidates must have three to five years of Internal Medicine post residency clinical experience as well as core faculty experience in an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine Residency program. A minimum of 3 years of GME teaching/administrative experience as Program Director or Associate Program Director is also required. Qualified candidates will have excellent communication skills, active involvement in research and scholarship (publications, presentations, etc.), and mentorship experience of residents and students in scholarship and development of scholarship programs. Inpatient and administrative experience is preferred.
