The Hyperbaric Technician is responsible for the safe and effective operation of the hyperbaric chamber(s) and related support systems. The Hyperbaric Technician is responsible for the safe delivery of hyperbaric oxygen therapy to hyperbaric patients. The Hyperbaric Technician performs duties under the supervision of the Wound Care Manager and Clinical Nurse Supervisor.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. High School Diploma or equivalent required
2. 40 credit hour introductory course in Hyperbaric/Problem wound Management Training Course as approved by the National Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Medical Technology (NBDHMT) within 30 days of hire.
3. Certification as a CHT will be obtained within 2 years of employment.
4. Hyperbaric Technicians must be certified or licensed in one of the following vocations:
   1. Respiratory Therapist
   2. Corpsman (Military)
   3. Medical Services Specialist
   4. Nurse Practitioner
   5. EMT Basic or EMT Paramedic
   6. Registered Nurse licensed in the State
   7. Certified Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT)
   8. Physical Therapist
   9. Physical Therapy Assistant
   10. Certified Nursing Assistant with completed approved 40 hr course Hyperbaric Technologist
5. Effective communication skills.
6. BLS (AHA) certification required.
