Responsibilities

The Rapid Assessment RN is responsible for providing early and rapid intervention whenever patients are experiencing severe distress or acute changes in their condition in order to promote better patient outcomes. Fosters collaboration between critical care nurses, acute care nurses and physicians in rapid response situations through assessment, immediate interventions, communication, support, and education. Interventions will be timely to facilitate rescue of the patient including the initiation of procedures and treatments per policy. Ensures effective communication with physicians to facilitate decision-making. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

 

1.     Current and valid state RN License.

2.     Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.

3.     Completion of Critical Care Course preferred.

4.     Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.

5.     Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital required, critical care experience preferred.

6.     Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred.

7.     Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
