Responsibilities

Responsible for coordinating and leading all activities associated with the Stroke Program. Is an active participant in performance improvement data collection, activities, and functions to promote an integrated program in Stroke Programs, which ensures the provision of the highest quality of healthcare. Assists with the development and implementation of initiatives, policies and procedures, including staff education activities related to stroke care. Evaluates Stroke Program through the use of data capture, follow-up and trend analysis and presents findings to appropriate committees. Collaborates with multidisciplinary team on problem identification and resolution, cost containment issues, implementation of new services and systems/ performance measures for both the Risk and Stroke Programs.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

 

1.  BSN required, Masters (APN) preferred. Current state licensure as an RN or APN. Basic Life Support (BLS)

2.  Five years clinical and/or management experience in a multidisciplinary health care setting which includes a minimum of two years of inpatient experience preferred.

3.  After 6 months, knowledge in the care of stroke patients using the American Stroke Association Guidelines is required.

4.  Knowledgeable on current State Laws and Regulations as applicable to facility and Stroke program.

5.  Computer proficiency in Windows applications is required (especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint); strong working knowledge in data management, data analysis and quality improvement processes are required.  Proficiency in                       Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) and core clinical systems are required.
