Responsibilities

We are seeking a Radiologic Technologist II (PRN), internally referred to as our Rad Tech II at St Mary’s Medical Center a member of Prime Healthcare in Blue Springs, MO. Focus will be on conducting diagnostic X-ray procedures, which involves operating X-ray equipment to capture images of patients' internal structures for diagnostic purposes. An important role in assisting healthcare providers by producing high-quality images that aid in diagnosing medical conditions and formulating treatment plans for our patients. You may also work in the CT area, assisting when needed. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PRN.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

  • perform Diagnostic Radiographic or other procedures according to department protocols
  • responsible for ensuring that X-ray equipment is functioning properly and that images meet quality standards, which may involve performing equipment checks, calibrations, and troubleshooting as needed
  • interact with patients to explain procedures, address concerns, and ensure their comfort and safety during X-ray examinations
  • maintain accurate records of X-ray procedures, including patient information, images, and relevant medical history
  • operate CT scanners and/or X-ray machines to obtain images of the targeted body parts, which may involve adjusting the CT scanner settings to optimize image quality while minimizing radiation exposure, radiation safety at all times
  • operate radiographic equipment to produce high-quality images, be able to perform C-Arm for fluoroscopic imaging and understand the fluoroscopy imaging techniques
  • maintain your Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) and maintain your register status for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING 
  • effective July 1, 2017appropriate national certifications in two modalities required
  • current BCLS (AHA)
  • must be familiar with State and Federal regulations
  • one year of Acute Clinical Radiography preferred
  • proficient computer skills
