The Emergency Department Charge Audit Representative (Rep) is directly accountable to the Director of Emergency Room, and indirectly to the Manager, and / or Supervisor. Enters charges for ED accounts appropriate to the charge master for ED visits levels, procedures, and medications. Audits patient medical records, and billed charges for accuracy. Facilitates communication and education needs of the department related to charges and documentation Prepares and complies records on the Emergency Room. Able to assist nursing staff for duties involving indirect patient care.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
1. High School Diploma or Equivalent or relevant experience required.
2. Current BLS certificate within 6 months of hire and maintain current.
3. At least one (1) year of applicable healthcare experience.
4. Experience using medical terminology.
5. Experience using computers for word processing, database management.
