Responsibilities

The following statements are intended to describe the major elements and requirements of the position and should not be taken as an all inclusive list of responsibilities, duties and skills required of an individual assigned to this job. The Receptionist performs clerical duties for the office practice such as answering telephones, greeting patients and preparing charts. Other duties include, but are not limited to, filing patient reports, retrieving patient records for physicians or medical records. The Receptionist should demonstrate adequate knowledge of the usual terminology of tests ordered. This person should demonstrate good telephone etiquette and be able to greet patients and other visitors in a polite and friendly manner. Maneuvers through reception area. Provides clerical support by utilizing telephone, computer, office equipment, computer systems.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience
  1. 1 year experience in receptionist work preferred.
  2. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  3. Completion of medical office assistant program desired.
