Responsibilities

This Position will work 5:30 am to 2 pm and work weekends as needed.  

 

The Food and Nutrition Manager at St. Joseph Medical Center is responsible for overseeing the hospital’s dietary services, ensuring quality nutrition and food service for patients, staff, and visitors. This role involves developing nutritious meal plans, managing kitchen operations, and ensuring compliance with health regulations. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Nutritional Planning: Develop and implement meal plans tailored to patient needs, ensuring balanced, nutritious diets.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and evaluate kitchen staff to maintain efficient and effective operations.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining high standards for food safety and sanitation.
  • Budget Management: Monitor food service budget, control costs, and manage inventory to optimize resource utilization.
  • Collaboration: Work with healthcare professionals to align dietary services with patient care objectives.
  • Customer Service: Enhance patient satisfaction through courteous service and engaging communication with patients and family members.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

  1. High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  2. Food Safety Certification from an accredited organization and maintain current.
  3. Two (2) years experience in Healthcare food service operations.
  4. Ability to use PC.
  5. Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) or Dietetic Technician Registered (DTR).
  6. Certificate in Culinary Arts from an accredited Culinary Institute preferred.

County Specific requirement.

  1. County Specific Food Handlers certification required upon hire and maintained current
