Overview

Holy Family Medical Center in Des Plaines, IL, is a critical care hospital and ER with advanced specialty care services. Holy Family is a long-term acute care hospital (LTACH) caring for medically complex patients, the only LTACH in Northwest Chicagoland. Our care team at Holy Family specializes in caring for patients who are critically ill with complex conditions and who need to be hospitalized for an extended period of time. Your care team includes intensive skilled nurses who provide follow-up care after you or your loved one has been hospitalized for a critical illness. Your care team may include doctors, nurses, wound care specialists, respiratory therapists, physical and occupational therapists and social workers. We focus on care for your physical and emotional health.


Responsibilities

The Medical Staff Coordinator is responsible for assigned Medical Staff Departments as assigned by Director/Manager. This position facilitates all aspects of credentialing, including applications, reappointments, proctoring and competencies. Interfaces with physicians and hospital management staff in a positive and professional manner. Must be able to function in a demanding environment by navigating multiple projects simultaneously, and effectively supporting a busy Medical Staff Office.

 

Experience in hospital credentialing, physician credentialing and/or payor enrollment is vital for this role. 

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

 

1.    Associates degree preferred or equivalent education/experience.

2.    Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) preferred

3.    Minimum of 3 years technical/administrative experience, Medical Staff Services Department and/or acute care hospital experience preferred.

4.    Must have strong computer, communication, and writing skills.

5.    Must be proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

6.    Must exhibit a positive attitude and willingness to learn.

7.    Knowledge of medical terminology and medical staff services and/or acute care hospital experience, preferred.
