Responsibilities

St Mary's Medical Center/Ambulatory Surgery Center (SMMC) is seeking a full time day shift Supervisor of Materials Managment who, preferably, also has OR/Surgical Tech experience to join our team at the Ambulatory Surgery Center!!!

 

The Supervisor of Materials Managment duties include, but are not limited to:

  • provide professional support in the areas of supply processing, distribution, purchasing, receiving and inventory management
  • the primary objective is to manage and control the flow of supplies and equipment from acquisition to disposition
  • areas of emphasis include supply and capital budgets, inventory control, asset management
  • adherence to organizational contracts and group purchasing agreements for supplies and equipment
  • responsible for department budget adherence and requisite review and analysis of departmental operations reports
  • responsible for the attendance and participation in designated hospital committees
  • assures that department operations adhere to guidelines per the state, accreditation and all other agencies
  • will also, preferably, participate in OR/Surgical Tech responsibilities

Qualifications

Education, Experience and Training

 

Supervisory requirements:

  • three to five years experience as a Supervisor in health care materials management, preferred
  • management skills of planning, organizing, prioritizing and staffing
  • computer skills
  • working knowledge of logistics, business ethics, math and business management

 

OR Tech requirements a plus:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required 
  • graduation from an ORT training program within 6 months of hire or on the job training with a minimum of 2 years experience in a surgical setting, preferred
  • experience in scrubbing minor and major procedures in various surgical specialties (i.e. General, Ortho, Urology and GI)
  • current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
