Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Telemetry Charge Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic healthcare team. The Telemetry Charge Nurse plays a crucial leadership role in providing exceptional patient care while overseeing and coordinating telemetry unit operations. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality care, efficient workflow, and effective communication among staff, patients, and families.
Key Responsibilities:
• Patient Care Management: Provide direct, high-quality nursing care to telemetry patients, ensuring continuous cardiac monitoring and timely intervention when necessary.
• Charge Nurse Leadership: Lead and manage the telemetry unit during assigned shifts, including staff assignment, workflow coordination, and resolving any issues that arise.
• Staff Support and Supervision: Support and mentor nursing staff, ensuring compliance with hospital policies, protocols, and best practices. Provide guidance and assistance to nurses and support staff to maintain efficient unit operations.
• Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for interdisciplinary communication between nurses, physicians, patients, and families. Facilitate effective communication to enhance patient outcomes and staff collaboration.
• Clinical Expertise: Utilize advanced clinical skills to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. Ensure the accurate interpretation and documentation of telemetry data and patient status.
• Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives, ensuring adherence to evidence-based practices and hospital standards. Identify areas for improvement and contribute to enhancing patient care quality and safety.
• Education and Training: Provide ongoing education to nursing staff regarding telemetry protocols, cardiac care, and hospital policies. Educate patients and families about their care plans and telemetry monitoring.
• Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, infection control standards, and hospital safety protocols. Maintain a safe and effective environment for patients and staff.
