Responsibilities

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cardiac Care Unit Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care to individuals with acute cardiac conditions. The role involves monitoring patients post-surgery, administering medications, and collaborating with the healthcare team to create comprehensive care plans.

 

Key Responsibilities:

    • Assess and monitor patients’ cardiovascular status, vital signs, and overall health, identifying any changes in condition.
    • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary teams based on assessed needs.
    • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to best practices and hospital policies.
    • Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding cardiac health, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
    • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and progress in electronic health records.
    • Participate in patient rounds, contributing to care discussions and ensuring continuity of care.
    • Engage in professional development and continuing education to enhance clinical skills and knowledge of current best practices in cardiac nursing.
    • Uphold safety, infection control, and quality assurance standards while caring for patients in accordance with regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
 
1. Current and valid state RN License.
2. Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
3. Completion of Critical Care Course preferred. 
4. Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current. 
5. Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care preferred.
6. Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred. 
7. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
