Responsibilities

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Perioperative Registered Nurse to join our surgical team. This role involves caring for patients before, during, and after surgery, ensuring a safe and efficient environment within the operating room.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare surgical equipment and supplies, ensuring all instruments are sterilized and available.
  • Collaborate with surgical teams to conduct preoperative assessments and develop care plans.
  • Assist surgeons during procedures by anticipating their needs, handing them instruments, and maintaining a sterile field.
  • Monitor patient vitals and surgical sites, ensuring patient safety throughout procedures.
  • Provide post-operative care and instructions, educating patients and families on recovery processes.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, documenting all surgical interventions and postoperative care.
  • Comply with all hospital policies, as well as local, state, and federal regulations to ensure patient safety.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

 

1. Current and valid state RN License.

2. Current BLS (AHA or ARC) certificate upon hire and maintain current.

3. Current ACLS (AHA or ARC) 30 days upon hire and maintain current.

4. Current PALS (AHA or ARC) certificate required 30 days upon hire and maintain current.

5. Previous acute care hospital experience; preferred.

6. Moderate Sedation competency completed within 30 days upon hire.

7. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
