Hours: 7:00am to 7:00pm

Location: Providence Medical Center- Kansas City, KS

 

In an emergency room, Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) are essential in providing immediate medical care and support. They conduct initial patient assessments, perform basic life support procedures like CPR, and monitor vital signs to stabilize patients upon arrival. EMTs also manage wound care, assist in patient transportation within the hospital, and work closely with ER staff to ensure coordinated care. Their role involves documenting care given, communicating with patients and families, and maintaining readiness of medical equipment and supplies, all while adapting their skills through observation and collaboration.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

  • Utilize your EMT training to provide immediate and effective patient care and life support.
  • Perform thorough assessments of patients to determine their medical needs.
  • Collaborate closely with nurses and doctors to ensure seamless and comprehensive care.
  • Aid in prioritizing patient treatment based on the severity of condition.
  • Accurately record patient information and interventions in medical records and charts.
  • Ensure emergency room equipment is in excellent condition and readily available.

Qualifications

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have: 

 

1. High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires effective April 2014.
2. Basic EMT Training or E.R. experience required.
3. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.

 

Facility Specific Requirements (facility may require items listed below):

1. Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
2. Current PALS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
3. Certified/Licensed EMT by the state certifying agency/entity required.
