The Director of Food and Nutrition Services at West Anaheim Medical Center (Anaheim, CA) a member of Prime Healthcare, is responsible for overseeing both food safety and the delivery of nutritional care within the department, ensuring full compliance with all federal, state, and regulatory agency standards. This role ensures the efficient preparation and delivery of food, with an emphasis on food safety, nutritional adequacy, and individualized patient care. The Director is accountable for the development, implementation, and enforcement of departmental policies and procedures related to clinical nutrition services, food preparation, distribution and service, purchasing, sanitation, safety protocols, performance improvement initiatives, and ongoing staff education and professional development.

Lead and manage all food service operations including patient meals, cafeteria services, and special functions
Oversee clinical nutrition services, ensuring patients receive evidence-based nutritional care
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (Joint Commission, OSHA, HIPAA, CMS)
Collaborate with physicians, nursing, and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated care
Train, and manage food service and clinical nutrition staff
Implement and monitor quality assurance and performance improvement programs
Ensure safe food handling and sanitation practices in compliance with health department guidelines
Lead strategic initiatives to improve patient satisfaction and operational efficiency
Stay current with trends in nutrition, food service management, and healthcare regulations
Education and Work Experience
1. Registered Dietitian (RD) required.
2. Bachelors Degree, preferably in Food & Nutrition or related field or relevant experience.
3. Two (2) years experience in the fields of nutrition and food service management desirable.
4. Food Safety Certification from an accredited organization and maintain current.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $80,080.00 to $115,980.80 on an annualized basis. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
