The Chest Pain Center Coordinator / Stroke Center Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of all services/systems required for the care of the STEMI or stroke patient and reports directly to the Director of Performance Improvement. The STEMI/Stroke Coordinator functions in support of and in collaboration with other healthcare team members by serving as a consultant, educator, researcher, and change agent. This position supports the goals of the hospital in the advancement of and the provision of quality STEMI and stroke care and is required to develop and facilitate program protocols, provide education and training, collect and report data, analyze data for improvements, and to provide community outreach. The STEMI/Stroke Coordinator is required to obtain and maintain Chest Pain Center Accreditation and Stroke Accreditation through The Joint Commission (TJC).
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
1. Current and valid state RN License.
2. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
3. Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
4. Current ACLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
5. Education requirements obtained and maintained as outlined by the Joint Commission as a requirement for the coordinator for both programs.
6. A minimum of three (3) years experience in an acute care hospital environment.
7. Excellent clinical, interpersonal and communication skills essential.
8. Team approach to patient care.
9. Computer experience in Windows applications (especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint); strong working knowledge in data management, data analysis and quality improvement processes are preferred.
