Bonus Options: up to $20,000 (Paid out as stipends every 90 days)

Hours: 7:00am to 7:00pm

Location: Providence Medical Center- Kansas City, KS 

 

An ICU Registered Nurse (RN) is a specialized healthcare professional responsible for providing intensive care to patients with life-threatening conditions. The role requires advanced skills in critical care settings, quick decision-making abilities, and compassionate patient interaction. An ICU RN monitors vital signs, blood oxygen levels, administer IV Fluids, and communicates effectively to the medical team to modify care plans accordingly. This RN can implement life-saving interventions, such as BLS, ACLS, and use specialized medical equipment like ventilators and EKGs. This role is suited for individuals who thrive in a high-pressure environment and are committed to improving patient outcomes through expert care and empathy.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

 

  • Deliver comprehensive, high-quality care to critically ill patients by performing detailed assessments, developing care plans, and implementing complex nursing interventions.
  • Utilize advanced technology to continuously monitor and evaluate patient vital signs and respond appropriately to emergencies.
  • Safely administer medications and treatments as per protocols, and accurately document patient information and medication records.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Provide emotional support and education to patients' families, acting as a liaison to ensure they understand the care being provided.
  • Follow and enforce hospital policies and procedures to maintain a safe and caring environment for patients and staff.

Qualifications

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have: 

 

1. Current and valid state RN License.
2. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
3. Completion of Critical Care Course preferred.
4. Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
5. Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
6. Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care preferred.
7. Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred.
8. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
