In the Healient clinic, a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) plays a crucial role in both clinical and administrative capacities. They perform tasks such as recording patient medical histories, taking vital signs, and preparing patients for examinations or procedures, such as EKGs, under the supervision of a cardiologist. CMAs assist with basic laboratory tests and ensure that results are communicated to the medical team efficiently. On the administrative side, they manage patient records, schedule appointments, and handle billing processes, ensuring that the clinic runs smoothly. CMAs often serve as a liaison between patients and healthcare providers, offering education on prescribed treatments and maintaining clear lines of communication to enhance patient care. Their expertise supports a well-coordinated, patient-centered environment in the cardiology clinic.
