Responsibilities

The Payroll Analyst will be responsible for performing a wide variety of payroll activities, including ensuring accuracy and compliance of proper internal control payroll processes. The job involves conducting root cause analysis to identify payroll systems problems/issues. Verifies and evaluates payroll program specifications created by programmers. May assist with implementation and maintains payroll systems developed in-house. Prepares feasibility studies of potential systems modifications and changes. May act as liaison between payroll staff and systems IT to ensure documentation of system functions and capabilities and to facilitate the training of payroll staff in the use of the automated system. Responsible in maintaining payroll systems audit monthly, quarterly or as required. The job may also assist with external payroll audit request, implementations of current or new acquisitions, researching laws and regulations regarding taxes and payroll procedures as needed.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

 

Required qualifications:

 

1.            High school diploma.

2.            A minimum of 5 years Hospital Payroll experience.

3.            Multi-state knowledge of payroll laws and payroll taxes preferred.

4.            General accounting background.

5.            Hands-on experience with Excel or equivalent. 

6.            Experience with JBDev/Kronos or similar timekeeping system.

7.            Knowledge of Windows based office technologies (ex. Word, Excel, AddIns, etc.)

8.             Knowledge of Wage and Hour Guidelines and Healthcare pay practices.

9.             Knowledge of Lawson 9.0.1 version or above

10.          Experience with union collective bargaining agreements and protocols preferred.

11.          Knowledge of BSI, MHC and Crystal Report Writer

12.          Hands on experience with audits for 401k, DOL, W/C, payroll tax reporting preferred

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $33.60 to $43.59. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
