The Cardiac Device Specialist is directly responsible for the coordination of all devices, and may assist with procedures/physician in the office as needed. The Cardiac Device Specialist will chart and document procedures and devices as required under state and federal guidelines. The Cardiac Device Specialist communicates with the physician(s) and patients regarding procedure and devices. Monitors and records device logs and information related to manufacturer notices. Communicates any nation notifications or recalls in a timely manner to the appropriate physician. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality consistent with HIPAA, state and federal regulations.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Current BLS certification (AHA Only).
3. SMRMC Basic EKG Interpretation class certificate is required.
4. 2-3 years previous Cardiac work experience required.
5. IBHRE Certified Cardiac Device Specialist Certificate from the Heart Rhythm Society is preferred but not required.
