We are seeking an Operating Room/Surgery Orderly (days), internally referred to as a Surgical Services Assistant or Operating Room (OR) Technician for our Surgery team. As an Operating Room (OR) Orderly you will play a vital support role within the surgical team by ensuring the smooth operation of the surgical environment.  

Shift’s Available:  Days

Employment Type: Full time

Hours: 9-hour shift

Location: Riverview Regional Medical Center, Gadsden, AL

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): 

• Perform a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties throughout the organization for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
• Responsible for transporting patients, preparing and cleaning operating rooms, and assisting clinical staff with non-clinical tasks
• Move, set up and store surgical equipment and furniture
• Contributes to maintaining a safe, clean and efficient environment for surgical procedures
• Adhere to hospital protocols and infection control standards at all times

Education and Work Experience

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:  

• BLS (AHA Certification) upon hire and maintain current
• Safe Patient Handling Training within 30 days of hire

Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus: 

• Patient Transport experience
