Responsibilities

 

We are seeking newly graduated Registered Nurses (RN), sometimes referred to as a New Grad RN's, at St. John Hospital, a member of Prime Healthcare in Leavenworth, KS.   

 

You will be part of our Emergency Services Nursing staff, performing a wide range of duties to support patient care in our Emergency Room. 

 

Bonus Options: up to $12,000

Employment Type: Full Time 

Shifts Available: Varies

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

  • perform head-to-toe assessments, monitor vital signs, and identify changes in patient conditions and patient care
  • administer oral, intravenous (IV), intramuscular (IM), or subcutaneous medications, including pain management and antibiotics
  • use electronic health records (EHRs) to document patient assessments, interventions, medications given, and progress
  • handle multiple patients with varying acuity levels, often prioritizing tasks like responding to emergencies, addressing pain management, and ensuring timely medication administration
  • participate in a nurse orientation designed to transition new grads into practice
  • work closely with experienced nurses or preceptors to refine clinical and critical-thinking skills

Qualifications

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
 
1. Must have current and valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State.
2. BCLS upon hire and maintain current.
3. Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
4. ACLS within 30 days of hire and maintained current.
