We are seeking a Patient Access Supervisor in our Admitting Department, internally referred to as our Admissions Supervisor or Hospital Admitting Supervisor. The Patient Access Supervisor works closely with the Admitting Director or Manager overseeing department operations and function.

Shift’s Available:  Days

Employment Type: Full-time

Hours: 8-hour shift

Location: Providence Medical Center, Kansas City, KS

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• Responsible for all areas within the Admitting Department
• Ensure that patient access processes adhere to hospital policies and procedures
• Ensure patient, family, and physician satisfaction with concerns or questions related to registration or billing issues
• Established strong relationships with insurance providers
• Maintain compliance with all relevant regulations including HIPAA guidelines on patient privacy

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong organizational skills required for effective communication with patients, physicians, public, staff and administrations
• Must be able to work in fast paced environment with frequent interruptions
• Effective written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize needs to meet required timelines
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Customer Service experience

Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus:

• One to two years’ experience as a Supervisor in the Admitting areas of an acute care facility
• Be able to demonstrate understanding of and ability to interpret third party payer principles and terms and COBRA laws
• Knowledge of medical terminology
