Shift’s Available:  Days (No Weekends)

Employment Type: Full Time

Hours: 8:00am to 4:30pm

Location: Providence Medical Group – Kansas City, KS (Neurology Clinic)

 

We're seeking a dedicated Certified Medical Assistant to join our neurology clinic team. This role involves supporting neurologists with patient care, managing appointments, and coordinating medical records. Key responsibilities include: conducting patient interviews, capturing vital signs, assisting with neurology-specific procedures, and handling EEG or EMG equipment under supervision. With a focus on patient care and administrative tasks, the ideal candidate should be proficient in medical terminology, have excellent communication skills, and ensure a compassionate patient experience.

Responsibilities

** You must be a Certified Medical Assistant from the National Healthcare Association or other nationally recognized organization to move forward in this position. We do offer programs to help you get your Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

  • Record patient medical histories, vital signs, and current symptoms to update health records accurately.
  • Assist neurologists during examinations and procedures, ensuring a sterile environment
  • Address patient inquiries and provide necessary instructions related to neurological tests and procedures.
  • Handle patient correspondence, including phone calls, emails, and appointment reminders.
  • Proficient in the use of medical instruments and equipment related to neurological assessments.
  • Familiarity with common neurological disorders and related medical terminology.

Qualifications

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have: 

  • Graduate of an accredited school for Medical Assistants, Surgical Technologists, or one year of experience as a Medical Assistant in a physician clinic setting
  • Current BLS certification upon hire and maintained current
  • Current medical assistant credential from a nationally recognized Medical Assistant Credentialing organization required
  • 1 year experience as a medical assistant in a clinic setting, preferred
