Responsibilities

Manager of Emergency Department is responsible for the day to day management and coordination of all activities who assumes 24-hour administrative responsibility for the management of all nursing service functions within the Emergency department.

 

Supervises, assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the delivery of patient care. Develops and implements departmental plans, including performance improvement activities and compliance with current regulations. Supervises and evaluates all personnel assigned to the unit and effectively utilizes nursing personnel, time responsibilities for the unit and is directly accountable to the CNO/DON. Communicates effectively with staff, physicians and administration both written and verbally. Interacts with the physicians, hospital staff, outside agencies, patients and patients’ families/significant other(s) to provide comprehensive care. 

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

  1. Must have a current and valid state license as a Registered Nurse.
  2. BLS upon hire and maintain current.
  3. A minimum of two years supervisory/management experience necessary.
  4. Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
  5. PALS upon hire and maintain current.
  6. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) upon hire and maintain current.
  7. Minimum of three years of continuous clinical experience in a clinical/acute care setting.
  8. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), required for all hires after 1/11/2021.

 

Facility Specific Requirements (facility may require items listed below):

 

  1. Non-OB facilities: NRP certificate within 30 days upon hire and maintain current.

Our Total Rewards package includes, but is not limited to, paid time off, a 401K retirement plan, medical, dental, and vision coverage, tuition reimbursement, and many more voluntary benefit options.  Benefits may vary based on employment status, i.e. full-time, part-time, per diem or temporary.  A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $104,228.80 to $140,275.20 on an annualized basis. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
