Responsibilities

The Systems Administrator will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing the hospital's IT server infrastructure to ensure continuous and secure operation of critical systems. This position will possess strong technical expertise in server management, network configuration, storage solutions, and security protocols. This role supports clinical and administrative staff by managing hospital systems to facilitate optimal patient care and hospital operations. This role requires independent responsibility, discretion, and decision-making on critical tasks, with minimal oversight. It involves prioritizing tasks, managing time efficiently, and consistently meeting deadlines.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

 

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in system administration, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server 2016/2019/2022.
  • Experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, M365 and Group Policy management.
  • Experience with supporting systems (e.g., EMR, PACS, LIS).
  • Strong understanding of healthcare IT compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA).
  • Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, and security best practices.
  • Familiarity with data storage solutions (e.g., SAN, NAS) and backup tools.
  • Understands hospital business operations and structure, general requirements in an integrated delivery system, and use of IT applications in the practicing healthcare environment.
  • Open to travel when required.

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), VMware
  • Certified Professional, or equivalent are preferred.
  • Familiarity with security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO) and Windows security best practices.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $25.00 to $38.00 on an annualized basis. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
