Hours: 8 Hour Shift- 7am to 3:30pm (Flexible) 

Location: St. Joseph Medical Group- Kansas City, MO

 

A Hospitalist Coordinator plays a crucial role in facilitating the operations of hospitalist programs within healthcare facilities. By managing schedules and serving as an integral communicator within the hospital, the coordinator ensures effective patient care and seamless hospitalist services. This position is perfect for individuals with strong organizational skills and a passion for healthcare administration, as it involves coordinating essential functions that contribute to the overall efficiency and quality of patient care. Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): 

  • Schedule and coordinate hospitalist shifts and on-call rotations to ensure 24/7 coverage.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of hospitalist activities, including patient admissions, discharges, and transfers.
  • Function as the primary point of contact for hospitalists, answering questions and resolving schedule conflicts.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to improve efficiency in patient care processes.
  • Perform administrative duties such as preparing reports, managing correspondence, and updating hospitalist databases.
  • Assist in the onboarding and orientation process for new hospitalists.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives by collecting and analyzing data related to hospitalist performance.

 

Qualifications

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:  

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a hospital or another medical environment is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration or related discipline preferred.
  • A minimum of two years’ administrative experience is required.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills required.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must exhibit a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment.
