Overview

 

 We are seeking an Obstetric Registered Nurse (OB RN), sometimes referred to as our Obstetric Registered Nurse, Obstetrics and Gynecology Nurse or Labor and Delivery RN. Our Obstetric RN will be in obstetrics acute unit and provide specialized care to pregnant patients before, during, and after labor and delivery. The Obstetric Registered Nurse monitors maternal and fetal health, assist with labor management, administer medications, and support patients through childbirth.  

 

Shift’s Available: Nights

Employment Type: Full Time 

Hours: 7p-7a

Location: Dallas Regional Medical Center – Mesquite, TX

Responsibilities

** Additionally, the OB RN will educate and counsel patients and families on pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care, while collaborating closely with physicians, midwives, and other healthcare team members to ensure safe and effective care throughout the perinatal period.  

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): 

  • Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs and assess labor progression to ensure the well-being of both mother and baby 
  • Administer medications, intravenous fluids, and pain management therapies as prescribed during labor and postpartum 
  • Assist healthcare providers with labor and delivery procedures, including vaginal births and cesarean sections 
  • Provide emotional support and education to expectant mothers and their families regarding labor, delivery, and postpartum care 
  • Document patient care activities, observations, and responses accurately in medical records to ensure continuity of care 

Qualifications

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:  

  • Current and valid state RN license
  •  Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred
  •  BLS certification within 30 days and maintain current

Additional Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 

  • NRP certification within 90 days and maintain current
  • Basic Fetal Monitoring upon hire within 60 days of hire and maintain current
