Responsibilities

The Manager of Sterile Processing is responsible for direction of reprocessing and sterilization of instruments and supplies in the perioperative environment. The Manager manages the staff members in the Sterile Processing department. Maintains a constant state of departmental regulatory readiness with proper documentation and compliance of all staff and sterile processing records. Consult with staff, physicians and Nurse Executive on issues and interpretation of hospital policies to ensure all instrument and reprocessing needs are met. Maintains performance improvement activities within the department and assists with formulation of budget for the department.
 

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
 
1. Must have completed education as a Sterile Processing Instrument Technician and/or Surgical Technologist.
2. BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.
3. At least five (5) years of experience in Sterile Processing or Surgical Services
4. A minimum of two years supervisory/management experience required.
5. CRST certification required
6. CIS Certification through IAHCSMM within 1 year of employment in role
