Responsibilities

The Lab Project Manager (LPM) is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, and completion of projects, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy, commitments, and goals. The LPM supervises a team of Business Analysts and Application Technicians, ensuring that project objectives are clearly defined and deadlines are met. Key responsibilities include developing and revising full-scale, cross-functional project plans; facilitating the definition of project scope and goals; and collaborating with stakeholders to resolve complex issues, escalating as necessary. The LPM is accountable for assembling and coordinating project staff, implementing project-level processes and performance metrics, and delivering presentations to senior leadership that demonstrate ownership of the project lifecycle. The role also includes leading training efforts, contributing to performance evaluations, and continuously monitoring and reporting on project progress, risks, and solutions to all stakeholders.

In addition to general project oversight, the LPM manages laboratory-specific initiatives such as equipment upgrades, LIS implementation, and process optimization. The LPM serves as the primary liaison between the lab department and Shared Services, facilitates regular project meetings, and provides timely updates to leadership. The role ensures timely procurement and availability of lab supplies, supports training and change management for lab staff, and tracks key performance indicators to report on outcomes, efficiency improvements, and cost savings. Data analytics are leveraged to support decision-making and drive continuous improvement in lab operations.
