Overview

We are seeking a MRI Technologist, internally referred to as a Radiologic Technologist II or MRI Tech. The MRI Technologist will operate magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) equipment to capture detailed images of patients' internal organs, tissues, and structures. They play critical role in the diagnostic process by producing high-quality images that help physicians diagnose and treat various medical conditions in our Providence Medical Imaging Center.

 

Bonus Option: $5,000

Employment Type: Full Time

Shifts Available: Days (No weekends, call or holidays)

Hours: 8-hour shifts – 7:30am to 4:00pm or 8:00am to 4:30pm

Responsibilities

**Candidates are required to have an MRI certification to move forward in the hiring process. We also welcome newly graduated technologists who have earned their MR credential from a recognized national agency.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

  • Prepare patients for their MRI scans by explaining the procedure, addressing any concerns or questions, and ensuring that patients are comfortable, you will also screen patients for contraindications to MRI, such as the presence of metal implants or pacemakers
  • Operate MRI scanners to acquire high-resolution images of the body, position patients correctly on the scanning table and select appropriate imaging parameters to produce clear and accurate images
  • Adhere to strict safety protocols to protect both patients and you from potential hazards associated with MRI technology, such as strong magnetic fields
  • During the MRI scan, monitor patients' vital signs and adjust imaging parameters as needed to obtain the desired images, you may perform multiple imaging sequences to capture different anatomical views or enhance specific tissue contrasts
  • Administer contrast agents intravenously to enhance the visibility of certain tissues or abnormalities during the scan, monitor patients for any adverse reactions to the contrast agent and provide appropriate care if needed
  • Perform routine quality assurance checks on MRI equipment to ensure optimal performance and image quality

Qualifications

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have: 

  • Licensure as required by State
  • Effective July 1, 2017appropriate national certifications in two modalities required
  • Current BCLS (AHA)
  • Graduate of an accredited radiology technology program required, JRCERT accreditation preferred

Additional Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Must be familiar with State and Federal regulations
  • Proficient computer skills 

Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus:

  • One year of Acute Clinical Radiography preferred
