Responsibilities

Coordinates and performs all project manager functions for CPE Telcom projects including executing service moves, adds, changes, disconnections. Coordinates the telecom processes including service moves, adds, changes and disconnects for customer premises equipment projects, carrier conversions, system procurement and help desk functions. Monitor PBX system performance to assure dependable and uninterrupted operation of telephone communications. Assists in the translating of user needs for communications into better business solutions. Coordinates with other departments to understand and meet their telecommunication needs. Performs correction of PBX alarm conditions identifies and replaces malfunctioning or inoperative equipment, such as circuit cards or processing units determines which backup components should be maintained in stock. Assist’s in developing implementation plans to upgrade communications systems. Assists in budgetary solutions and requirements for equipment replacement Assist’s in emergency plans to deal with catastrophic events. Installs specific hardware and software for PBX. Setup and relocation of existing user accounts I.E voicemail and telephone extensions. Performs all preventive maintenance and minor equipment repairs.

Maintains strong, productive relationships with all service providers.

Qualifications

Required qualifications:

  1. Bachelors or equivalent 7 years’ experience with some college coursework in telecommunications or Avaya Technical certifications.
  2. Technical training in the telecommunications field for network design and management.
  3. Must have Strong Knowledge of design and hands-on ability to assist the architecture and administration, maintenance and provision of Avaya PBX system (s87xx and LSP’s) and associated gateways
  4. Hands-on experience working with enterprise-level contract center solutions including PBX/ACD call routing and workflow management.
  5. Hands-on experience in scoping, planning, analysis, technical design, development, implementation, evaluations and /or support of new and existing PBX.
  6. Support MAC (Moves/Add/Changes) activities for in-house systems
  7. Engineering and Administration of Voicemail Mail Systems (including Fax and E-Mail integrations)
  8. Engineering and Administration of call center applications (eg. CTI, CMS, eCAS)
  9. Engineering and Administration of VDN’s and Vectoring
  10. Engineering and Administration of Avaya VoIP technologies for all enterprise locations
  11. Manage backups for all telecom systems
  12. Advance troubleshooting and administration skills on Avaya S87xx and LSP series PBX’s and Session Manager and associated peripherals to include CLAN, IPMEDPRO and IPSI boards as well as all carrier services (DS1, DS3, MPLS etc.) and media gateways G450, G430
  13. Coordinate provisioning of all voices services and technologies
  14. Engineering and administration of MUX devices
  15. General administration of PBX functions (eg: ARS, Call Routing, FAC, COS, COS etc..)
  16. Strong telecom security knowledge to prevent toll fraud and infrastructure breaches
  17. Assist in the development of the telephony roadmap
  18. Maintain documentation for all telecommunications systems / devices
  19. Participation in on-call service rotation
  20. Participate and drive post-mortem investigations related to all severity 1 and 2 incidents and problems
  21. Perform root cause analysis and determination if root cause, identify corrective action to resolve and prevent future occurrences
  22. Identify and validate if corrective action if applicable to prevent future occurrences of incident
  23. Create and maintain proper documentation of policies, procedures and technical papers.
  24. Independently work to accomplish general tasks and projects with little direct supervision
  25. Other duties and tasks as assigned deemed necessary for the business and not limited to the above.
