Employment Type: Full Time  

Shifts Available: Day (8am to 4:30pm) Monday through Friday 

Location: St. Joseph Medical Center 

 

The Patient Service Representative (PSR) plays a pivotal role in healthcare settings, serving as the initial point of contact for patients and visitors. This Patient Services role involves a blend of administrative and customer service tasks essential for the smooth operation of medical facilities. The PSR aims to enhance patient satisfaction by ensuring a seamless interaction from the moment a patient enters to their follow-up visit.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but are not limited to): 

  • Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment. Accurately verify and update patient information during the check-in process.
  • Manage and schedule patient appointments, balancing provider availability and patient needs.

  • Verify patient insurance information and eligibility prior to appointments.
  • Maintain electronic health records (EHR) with precision, ensuring privacy and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Manage complaints or concerns with empathy, escalating issues to management when necessary.
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare providers and staff to coordinate patient care seamlessly.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, including mail, emails, and faxes.

 

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a medical setting is preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
  • Customer service experience preferred.
