Responsibilities

Leads and directs the technical personnel, activities and equipment of the respiratory services in Pulmonary:  Promotes healing of acutely ill patients whose pulmonary systems have been compromised through illness or injury through the provision of respiratory care, diagnostic testing, providing for the psycho-social needs of the patient, and patient education.  Encourages and enhances the progression and efficient operation of the Pulmonary Services Department.  Treats adult patients. When requested, assists day-to-day operations of the Pulmonary Department, referring out-of-the –ordinary issues to the Manager and/or Medical Director, as appropriate.   Provides diagnostic testing to the patient to help optimize the total care given. Performs pulmonary function testing (PFT’s) with or without dilation, Pulmonary stress tests and 6 minute walks.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

 

  1. 2 years Acute care experience, required.
  2. NRP certification, required
  3. Current BCLS, required
  4. Pulmonary Function CPFT or PRFT license, required
  5. Valid Nevada State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License, required
  6. Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current, required
  7. English fluency (written and verbally) required.
