Overview

Department: Invasive Cardiovascular

Schedule: FT, 30-min On-Call 

Facility: Prime Healthcare St Francis Hospital

Location: Evanston, IL

Sign on bonus: Up to $10,000.00

 

The Cath Lab Technologist supports invasive cardiovascular procedures, including cardiac catheterizations, angiography, angioplasty, stent placement, ablations, and electrophysiology (EP) diagnostics. This role ensures safe, effective, and sterile operation of imaging and interventional equipment while monitoring patient condition throughout the procedure.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain the cath lab and patient for procedures, including sterile field setup
  • Assist physicians by scrubbing, circulating, or monitoring during diagnostic/interventional cases
  • Operate and troubleshoot imaging equipment (fluoroscopy, hemodynamics systems, IVUS, etc.)
  • Administer contrast media under physician supervision and ensure radiation safety
  • Monitor and record patient vitals and hemodynamic data during procedures
  • Document procedural information accurately in patient records
  • Provide pre- and post-procedure patient education and care
  • Participate in emergency activations (e.g., STEMI response) and on‑call rotations
  • Inventory control and restocking of lab supplies
  • Adhere to hospital policies, safety regulations, infection control, and HIPAA guidelines

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

 

1.    ARRT-R and licensed as required by State; VI (Vascular Interventional Technologist) preferred.

2.    Previous experience in a Interventional Radiology department preferred.

3.    BCLS (AHA) required upon hire and maintain current.

4.    Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); required within 30 days of hire.

5.    Proficient computer skills.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $32.22 to $46.71 per hour.

 

The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
