Employment Type: Part-Time

Hours: Four 8-hour Shifts per week

Location: St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, MO

 

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Pain Management Registered Nurse to join our dedicated healthcare team. This RN will play a crucial part in providing comprehensive pain assessment and management for our patients. The registered Nurse will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop personalized pain management plans that ensure optimal patient comfort and enhance the quality of life. The Pain Management Registered Nurse must empathy, attention to detail, and clinical expertise will contribute significantly to patient care and recovery.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients experiencing pain and develop individualized pain management plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring patients for effectiveness and potential side effects.
  • Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care approaches.
  • Educate patients and their families about pain management strategies, medication safety, and lifestyle adjustments.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting care plans and outcomes.
  • Advocate for patients, addressing concerns and ensuring compassionate care.
  • Stay informed about the latest pain management techniques, medications, and protocols.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

  • Current and valid state RN License.
  • Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
  • Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
  • Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
  • Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
  • Ventilator Management experience preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
