The Med-Surg Renal RN delivers specialized care to patients with renal conditions in a fast-paced medical-surgical setting. This Registered Nurse role involves managing care from admission to discharge, with a focus on kidney-related issues. Key responsibilities include patient assessments, individualized care planning, and complex interventions. The ideal RN is a compassionate team player with strong communication skills, proficiency in electronic health records, and a commitment to patient education and continuous learning in renal and med-surg nursing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• Conduct thorough initial assessments and ongoing evaluations of patients' physical, emotional, and mental health.
• Monitor vital signs, intake/output, and other clinical indicators to detect changes in patient conditions.
• Monitor vital signs, lab results, and symptom progression closely. Safely administer prescribed medications (oral, IV, subcutaneous, intramuscular) and monitor for adverse effects or allergic reactions.
• Function as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure the patient's needs are met.
• Provide patient education on their condition, treatment options, and lifestyle adjustments to support recovery and prevent readmission.
• Communicate effectively with doctors, specialists, physical therapists, and social workers to develop and adjust care plans.

• Current and valid state RN License
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current

Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus:

• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience
• Ventilator management experience
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
