Overview

Bonus Available:  $20,000 with a two year commitment paid out every 90 days 

Shift’s Available:  Days

Employment Type: Full-Time

Hours:  8 hour or 10 hour Shift 

Location: Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, KS

 

We are seeking a Post Anesthesia Care RN, also referred to as a PACU Nurse in the recovery room area for our post anesthesia care unit (PACU). The PACU RN, or Recovery Room Nurse, plays a critical role in our surgery center by caring for patients as they regain consciousness after surgery or other perioperative procedures requiring anesthesia. PACU RNs are essential in ensuring a safe recovery from anesthesia, addressing any complications promptly, and supporting patients through the critical early stages of post-operative or perioperative care.

Responsibilities

**If you have at least one year of experience in the Perioperative area of the operating room as a Circulator, OR Nurse, PACU Nurse or Surgical Nurse you are encouraged to apply! 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): 

  • Monitor vital signs and detect early complications
  • Manage pain and administer medications
  • Ensure airway patency and address respiratory issues
  • Assess consciousness and neurological status
  • Inspect surgical sites and manage wounds
  • Provide comfort and update families
  • Communicate with care team
  • Document care and interventions
  • Deliver discharge instructions

Qualifications

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:  

  • Current and valid state RN License.
  • Current BLS (AHA or ARC) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
  • Current ACLS (AHA or ARC) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
  • Current PALS (AHA or ARC) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
  • Previous Critical Care or PACU hospital experience or minimum of one year OTJ traning.
  • Critical Care RN (CCRN) preferred
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
