Responsibilities

The Health Informatics Supervisor serves as the primary contact and representative for the Health Informatics/Health Information Department, next to the manager. He/She assists with accomplishing the goals for the department by demonstrating knowledge and understanding of the scope of services in the department while actively working with the Health Informatics Specialist on the same. He/She should be well versed with the EMR usage and workflow processes in the system that are within the scope of the day-to-day processes. The Health Informatics Supervisor also conducts and oversees the planning and organization of clerical activities in the department while ensuring security and maintenance of the legal medical record. He/She effectively interacts with the team, peer and superiors in various other departments, physicians, patients and their significant others while maintaining standards of professional service. He/She will perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

 

Required qualifications:

 

  1. Bachelor’s degree in healthcare related field.
  2. One year of work experience in an acute care health information management setting
  3. Working knowledge of medical terminology
  4. Demonstrate ability to operate a computer, multiple software applications, and other office equipment as necessary.
  5. Interpersonal skills necessary to deal with and establish working relationships with physicians, hospital personnel and co-workers

 

Preferred qualifications:

 

  1. Training in state Consent Law and HIPAA Privacy/Security
  2. Completion of a management or business course

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $58,240.00 to $100,006.40 on an annualized basis. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
