Overview

Shifts Available: Days (No Weekends)

Hours: 8:00am to 5pm

Location:  Gynecology Associates of South Kansas City—Kansas City, MO 

 

We are seeking a Medical Assistant, also referred to as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA). Certified Medical Assistants will support both clinical and administrative tasks, such as taking vital signs, assisting with procedures, updating patient records, and coordinating appointments in our gynecology clinic. Medical Assistants will work under the supervision of physicians and nurses in a fast-paced environment, helping to deliver exceptional patient care and ensure smooth clinical operations.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but are not limited to):

  • Welcome patients and prepare them for exams and procedures, ensuring a warm and professional environment.
  • Assist gynecologists during examinations and medical procedures, including preparing instruments and materials.
  • Accurately record patient information, medical histories, and vital signs in electronic health records (EHR).
  • Assist in collecting and processing specimens for laboratory analysis as needed.
  • Provide patients with educational information regarding procedures, treatments, and preventative care.
  • Help manage appointments, follow-up calls, and patient communications efficiently.
  • Will be responsible for prior authorization and checking benefit information prior to any procedure
  • We provide patients with detailed information regarding any test results.

 

Qualifications

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:

  1. A high school diploma or equivalent or relevant experience is required for new hires effective April 2014.
  2. Medical Assistant Certification.
  3. Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
  4. Minimum one year of work experience in a public contact job.
  5. Work experience in health care is preferred.
